John Cooper, Nigel Graham, Pete Hann and Adrian Vanderplank. Pete forgot the cement buckets so the first mix was put in a poly bag inside the main hauling bucket With John lowering, Adrian guiding and Pete receiving it was lowered as far as the bottom of Father Duckmas where it was transferred to a spoil bucket which Pete and Adrian took on to the bottom. Meanwhile John returned to the surface with the empty main hauling bucket and did the second mix. He then ferried this down to the top of Pensioners’ Pot. Once the first mix was used up the spoil bucket was hauled up and the bag of cement transferred then lowered to the dig face (floor). Pete used this up and we then returned to the surface bringing out the hauling bucket, the spoil bucket (beyond its useable life) and the two empty poly bags. Still nice and dry in the shafts and a steady outward draught. 2½ hours.

John Cooper, Nigel Graham, Pete Hann, Kate Lawrence, Adrian Vanderplank and
Jude Vanderplank. Double mix of cement taken in. After Jude and Kate had
removed clatch at the bottom Pete used two thirds of the mix trying to
stabilize the bottom and John used the remaining third cementing rocks in at
the bottom of Father Duckmas. Gentle outward draught and still dry despite the
very heavy overnight rain. 2 hours. John.

Double mix of cement taken in. Adrian and
Jude were late arrivals as looking at new MCR kit. As a result I had to do the
Entrance shaft twice because Pete had gone down with the first bucket of cement
but not hauled the krab back up past the Naughty Step where it catches. Then
when I lowered the double buckets down they tipped up on the Naughty Step so it
had to be put back in the buckets. By then Jude and Adrian had arrived so
Adrian took one of the buckets and I took the other. Clatch clearance at the
bottom by Kate followed by Pete building walls at the bottom using two thirds of the
cement. The other third was used by John building rocks in at the bottom of
Father Duckmas. A good outward draught today. 2 hours. John.

Double mix of cement taken in. Pete took in first bucket of cement to bottom of
Father Duckmas shaft and started wall building whilst Jude and Kate were at the
bottom removing clatch. After Adrian and John had delivered the other two
buckets of cement to Pete they continued on down to Pensioners’ Pot. Kate and Jude
then sent rocks up Pensioners’ Pot which John stored until stacking space ran
out. They then switched back to clatch removal whilst Adrian and John took the
rocks up to Pete. Once cleared a few more rocks were hauled up before Pete ran
out of cement and Adrian went to the bottom for a look. Two more large rocks
then hauled out, the largest being moved to where Pete had been cementing. Consolidation
and enlargement now required at the bottom. 2½ hours. John.
