John Cooper, Pete Hann, Kate Lawrence, Adrian Vanderplank and Jude Vanderplank.
Double mix of cement taken in. Two thirds used by Pete building walls at the
bottom and the remaining third by John doing remedial work above the rift. Some
gravel removed from the bottom stashed in various alcoves in Pensioners’ Pot
and some rocks brought up to the top of it. Probably time for capping again. 2½
hours. John.

John Cooper, Nigel Graham, Pete Hann, Adrian Vanderplank and Jude Vanderplank. Finally
a nice sunny day. Double mix of cement taken in. Two thirds used by Pete
building walls at the bottom and the remaining third by John doing remedial
work above the rift. Once all the cement had been used Jude dug gravel from the
floor which Pete disposed of higher up. Probably same again next week. 2 hours. John.

Pete Hann, Nigel Graham, Jude and Adrian Vanderplank. Jude first to the bottom, noting the large amount of gravel that has washed in during the last couple of months. AV
then to the bottom to cap some of the larger rocks. The reduced rocks
were hauled to the top of Pensioners Pot by NG. JV dumped the gravel and
small rocks into some alcoves. JV and NG then
went out. PH and AV swapped places and more gravel was removed. Pete’s
light started to go on to low power mode so we called time, bringing
the bag and capping kit out with us. 2 ¼ hours. Adrian.

John Cooper, Nigel Graham, Pete Hann and Adrian Vanderplank. Wind and sleet on
surface. One mix of cement taken in and used by Pete building wall at the
bottom. Some rocks moved up to bottom of Father Duckmas and some gravel lost by
Adrian 3m above the bottom. Some capping now required, as well as more
cementing. 1½ hours. John.

John Cooper, Nigel Grahan, Pete Hann, Adrian Vanderplank and Jude Vanderplank. Could
hear a small stream at the bottom of the entrance shaft so just a single mix of
cement plus capping kit taken in. By the time the second bucket of cement
arrived at the top of Pensioners’ Pot Pete had already used up the first one
and was soaked. Once the second bucket was empty the decision to abandon work
was made. Capping kit taken out unused. 1 hour. John.
