Still looking as if it’s going downwards. Nigel reached the top of Pensioners’ Pot today. Clearing the drain hole on Thursday meant the pots below were dry until the water reappeared at the bottom of Father Duckmas shaft. 1½ hours. John.

Thursday 21st December 2023

John Cooper, Adrian Vanderplank and Jude Vanderplank. Tourist trip so we could all have a look at the bottom. Once John had looked at the loose walls and floor he went and cleared another couple of buckets of clatch from the drain hole as it was all rather drippy again today. 1 hour. John.

John Cooper, Nigel Graham, Pete Hann, Adrian Vanderplank and Jude Vanderplank. A bit drier again today. A good double mix taken down and used by Pete wall building at the bottom. Also took in capping kit which Adrian used to good effect on a couple of boulders. Probably be the same cement again next week. Still looking as if it’s going downwards. Nigel reached the start of the Rift today. There were lots of evil chuckles from Adrian whilst capping. 2½ hours. John.

Also took in capping kit which Adrian used to good effect on a couple of boulders. Probably be the same again next week. Still looking as if  it’s going downwards. 3 hours. John.
