Saturday 25th November 2023
John Cooper and Pete Hann. One mix of cement taken in and used by Pete wall
building at the bottom. A bit drier again today. There are 2 nice big rocks for
Adrian to cap next Saturday. Some of the wall in Pensioners' Pot is washing out and needs remedial action. On the way out the old bit of capping carpet was
removed from the drain and a couple of buckets of clatch hauled out to the
surface. All being well the drain will now work again. The 2 digging buckets
were dropped down the entrance shaft before locking up. 1½ hours. John.

A bit drier today. One mix taken down and used by Pete wall building at the
bottom whilst protected by the plastic sheet. Will need the sheet rearranging
to protect the next bit he wants to build. 1½ hours. John.

Saturday 11th November 202
John Cooper, Nigel Graham, Pete Hann, Adrian Vanderplank and Jude Vanderplank. The
wettest it’s been so far this year. Nigel and Pete decided it was far too wet
for cementing so went off to help with the work at Main’s barn. Capping kit
taken in. Jude had a look at the dig face then went out. Adrian spent a while
capping the floor watched by John before calling it a day. The drill wasn’t
liking the wet conditions either! It would be possible to cement as the plastic
sheet protects the area but would need to get the cement down without it
becoming a liquid slurry. Maybe put it inside a plastic bag inside the cement
bucket. 1½ hours. John.

Saturday 4th November 2023
John Cooper, Pete Hann and Adrian Vanderplank. Slightly wetter today but not as
bad as 3 weeks ago. Took in plastic sheet which Adrian installed in the bottom
chamber to keep Pete dry when cementing in future weeks. On the way in Pete put
2oz fluoresceine in the soakaway at the bottom of the Entrance Shaft. After
about 15 minutes working at the bottom the water flowing along the final rift
turned green. It was still flowing green when we left an hour later. On the way
out it was found to be entering near the bottom of Father Duckmas Shaft. Above
that point the water was flowing clear. The water in the bottom chamber is more
than twice that at the bottom of the Entrance Shaft. 1½ hours. John.
