Saturday 20th May 2023
John Cooper, Nigel Graham, Pete
Hann, Adrian Vanderplank and Jude Vanderplank. Adrian took in his capping kit
which was used on boulders at the bottom. Cracks had appeared in some
previously cemented boulders so next week a double mix will be taken in to
reinforce them. John used up one mix today cementing just above the tube.
Drippy still but a good draught coming out. No signs of Nigel. 2½ hours. John.

Saturday 13th May 2023
John Cooper, Pete Hann, Adrian
Vanderplank and Jude Vanderplank. Adrian took in his capping kit with Pete
carrying a ladder and hanger “Just in case”. John and Jude took in one mix of
cement. Pete supervised Adrian’s capping whilst Jude supervised John’s walling.
Pete did not do a good job as Adrian is now limping with a swollen black toe.
Jude did an excellent job pointing out to John where a loose rock needed
cementing back in. Gaps at the bottom much bigger. Another capping session next
week. 3 hours. John.

Saturday 6th May 2023
John Cooper, Nigel Graham, Pete
Hann and Adrian Vanderplank. Double mix of cement taken in. Two thirds used by
Pete cementing rocks into place at the bottom and the other bucket used by John
building retaining wall just above the bottom rift. Adrian escorted Nigel down
the first part then left him to assist Pete. Nigel eventually reached the
bottom of the fourth drop. Pete thinks it will be OK to cap next week. 2½
hours. John.
